About
Your Stay

Nyala Safari Lodge offers a simple luxury safari experience on the banks of a seasonal river in the Balule Nature Reserve. Hosts are warm and hospitable, creating a relaxing and memorable safari experience. Because the lodge has only five thatched chalets, you are guaranteed an intimate and personalised safari experience. Ideal for multigenerational groups, romantics and corporate travelers, Nyala has it all covered.

There are plenty of relaxation spaces on site, which include the sun loungers around the pool, the boma area, lounge and bar area. There are also various spots along the wooden viewing decks with seating overlooking the wilderness and waterhole.

Each of the five thatched rondawels offers something different, but all have indoor and outdoor showers, mosquito nets, air conditioning, soft lanterns for ambiance, canvas blinds, and fine linen.

Where to
Find Us

Hoedspruit is the closest safari hub to Nyala Safari Lodge and is a buzzing mecca of all things safari. The Balule Nature Reserve is one of many Big 5 reserves served by the Hoedspruit-Eastgate Airport and is easily accessible for guests flying in or arriving by scheduled road transfers.

Resting comfortably on the banks of the Mohlabetsi River in the Balule Nature Reserve, not far from Hoedspruit, is where you’ll find Nyala Safari Lodge. The Balule is an uncrowded reserve in the Greater Kruger, making it a sought-after destination in the area.

There’s an entrance gate to the reserve where self-drivers can leave their cars. A guide will meet you and transfer you to the lodge. It’s not uncommon to see the Big 5 before reaching your destination.
